Last week we enjoyed an incredible inspiring and international Sports & Business module as part of the Sports Leadership Programme.
On Tuesday we had the privilege to welcome alumnus and former Olympic champion Mark Tuitert in our class to talk about value-driven athlete ecosystems: how to build new sustainable business models for and around (former) athletes. Furthermore Dutch Volleyball Chairman Peter Sprenger talked about top-10 sports business trends and new sports business models.
On Wednesday we started the day in the Olympic Stadium with two Next-Gen powerhouses: Inge Stoter talking about successful innovation within (sports) organizations and how to foster radical collaborations between sports, research and business, followed by Cécile van Oppen discussing the importance of creating sustainability awareness in and through sports and how the Olympic Movement could contribute to these ambitions. In the afternoon we headed to the University of North Texas, where our Dutch friend, Professor Bob Heere talked about the cultural/business differences between US and European sports. Last but not least we safely landed in Atlanta, Georgia where Ricardo Fort shared his inspirational vision on sponsor&partnerships in a COVID year and the “must-go-on” of Tokyo 2020 (para) Olympics. A massive thanks to all the speakers for a great day!
