New project: developing a cross-national top coaching programme in collaboration with the KNHB
January 18, 2024

In collaboration with the Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond (KNHB) we are busy developing a cross-national top coaching programme, bringing together passion and expertise from various associations. This programme specifically focuses on the best coaches from various sports disciplines in the Netherlands, with the focus on absorbing and sharing knowledge, promoting coaching skills and strengthening the sports community as a whole.

The SLI’s contribution to the programme lies in (to us) well-known themes such as Governance, Ethics, Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Personal Leadership. The coaches will be introduced to new topics and theories that can be quickly applied in practice. In the 1-year programme their perspective will be broadened, with their personal development continuously central.

The collaboration between the Sport Leadership Institute and the KNHB for this ambitious project underlines the importance of continuous education and development within the sports world. This programme not only improves the quality of coaching, but also creates a common platform where coaches can inspire and support each other, which will ultimately contribute to the success of Dutch sport at an international level.
